The Grand Illinois Trail is a 535-mile loop trail in northern Illinois. It goes from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi along the northern border of Illinois and then loops back across the state along the Illinois River and the Hennepin Canal.

The trail on the old canal towpath is easy walking and gives access to unparalleled scenic and historic sights.  Channahon State Park provides shelters, tables and camp stoves, along with playgrounds, restrooms and water fountains.

The Lake Michigan Pathway extends approximately 9.8 miles along the lake shore. On the north side of Racine, it connects to Racine County's Milwaukee-Racine-Kenosha Trail (MRK) at 3-Mile Road and South Street

Jane Addams Trail

The Stone Bridge trail in Roscoe Illinois.  A highlight of the trail is passage on Stone Bridge over the scenic South Kinnikinnick Creek. Built in 1882, the double-arch bridge is included on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Badger State Trail travels 40 miles between Madison and the Wisconsin-Illinois border while traversing farmlands, woods, rolling hills, scenic meadows, remnant prairies, ravines, glacial topography and several small communities. Highlighting the trail is the 1,200-foot long Stewart Tunnel.
